Creation of the Association « Savon de Marseille France » (ASDMF)
The association « Savon de Marseille France » was established in order to promote an historical manufacturing process of the Marseille soap, developed on the national territory in accordance with the law on the Geographical Indications protecting Industrial Products and Crafts.
The association « Savon de Marseille France » intends to propose and defend a global and harmonized position for the entire profession, while taking into account the issues of each company and the territorial issues.
The associated specification of the Geographical Indications protecting Industrial Products and Crafts takes up the 2003 AFISE/DGCCRF (4) code, which is to this day the only definition on the appellation « Savon de Marseille » recognized by public authorities.
This specification is meant for a traditional point of view, but also for a modern point of view in the open world of the XXIst century. It ensures a quality product for the consumer thanks to the selection of raw materials and the observance of regulations, while integrating an environmental dimension.
The association « Savon de Marseille France » is forward-looking for the good and economic development for all the French « Soap » sector in his tradition of excellence.
